The Hunter Aboriginal Children's Services is a Community Driven and Government funded not for profit organisation. The function of HACS is to provide foster care to Aboriginal children and young people of the Hunter Region and to support the families of those Aboriginal children and young people.

The main objective of the Hunter Aboriginal Children's Services is to keep Aboriginal children safe. We do this by supporting Aboriginal children, young people and their families. When children or young people cannot live with their family, we try to restore them with their natural (or birth) family and only when this is not possible, we place children and young people in culturally aware, trained and loving Aboriginal foster families. If you need to make a referral to our service, contact our office.

If you are an Aboriginal person living in the Hunter or Central Coast Regions, and are able to provide a placement for an Aboriginal child or young person, then please contact us to get more information on how you can become a HACS Foster Carer.

If you are in need of Family Support and are Aboriginal or look after Aboriginal children or young people, we can offer you help or referral to an agency who can help. Contact our office for information about how we can help you.

From time to time the Hunter Aboriginal Children's Services will have Positions Vacant. Check this page often if you are interested in working for the betterment of Aboriginal child welfare.

Thanks for visiting!
